About me and Beatroute Liverpool

vegan tour guide

Hi! I'm Andrea, Your vegan tour guide and owner at Beatroute Liverpool. I am originally from Devizes, a small Wiltshire town. Born right at the end of the swinging sixties to music loving parents. For as long as I can remember I have been a Beatles fan. My 18th birthday present was a trip to Liverpool and a painting of The Beatles. The painting has pride of place in my dining room still. In my early teens I made the decision to go vegetarian. Fast forward 36 years and I finally committed to Veganism. I had been moving away from dairy and eggs for several years, hardly ever using either in the home. However I didn't make the final leap until January 2019, and have never looked back. I remember how difficult being a vegetarian was nearly 40 years ago and cannot imagine how vegans coped, but they did. We are so lucky with the abundance of choice we have today and I am truly thankful for that!

Paul McCartneys house

My love of The Beatles brought me to Liverpool in the late 80s and early 90s every year as a tourist. This is a photo of me outside Paul McCartney's house in Forthlin Road, taken on my first trip to Liverpool in 1987. Each time I left the city I vowed to one day live there. In 1995 I moved to this wonderful, vibrant, friendly, multi-cultural city and have called it home ever since. I love discovering new stories and new places. The people of Liverpool are quite rightly proud of their city and I am proud to call it home. It would be my pleasure to be your Vegan Tour Guide. Showing you around Liverpool and some of its lovely vegan cafes and restaurants. I hope to meet you soon!
